My Greatest Accomplishment This Year

What big events have taken place in your life over the past year?

The biggest event that has taken place in my life this year is writing and publishing my first book, and seeing my dreams come true. This year has had its ups and downs, but I have managed to make it just fine. I am now working on republishing my first book so that it can get the exposure it needs to be successful. I am also working on writing my second book and hopefully it will do just as well. I am very proud of the accomplishments I have made. I have learned and taught myself so much to help improve my writing. I am also working on getting some other things in which I know I am going to need when it is all said and done. I cannot wait to see where God is going to take me, and what doors He is going to open up for me. I know that whatever it is it’s going to be great. This year has gone by so fast, but I am not complaining though. I created a new website on WiX, and it doing alright. Hopefully I will have everything together to start my business sometime next year; I still have to create my business plan and decide what products and services I will be offering. I know for sure I will be promoting my books. Until everything else falls into place, promoting my books will be my main focus. All I can say is that I am ready for 2023. I am ready to see what it is going to bring. I just hope that it be a great year. I have been catching up on my Bible studies. I have been sharing my faith more again, I had slacked up, but I think that’s where I went wrong. I plan to record more shows this coming year if I have time. I am just so busy writing, and creating content.

GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS!

Well, Christmas is just around the corner, and Winter is right behind it. The feeling of Christmas is in the air. Everywhere you go things are decorated with lights and Christmas trees, the only thing that’s missing is the snow. It would be nice if we got some snow this year on Christmas. To be honest, I don’t see anything wrong with putting up a tree and celebrating Christmas. Everyone has their own opinion about celebrating Christmas. I don’t see it as a pagan holiday. It is the birth of Jesus we are celebrating, the Savior of the whole world. Had He not been born for us to celebrate this day; we would never have redemption for our sins through the shedding of His blood on the cross. There would not be any forgiveness for our sins, and we would not have a mediator to stand up and fight the battles for us that we cannot see with our eyes that’s going on in heavenly places. Christmas isn’t about gifts being bought in the stores, but it is about celebrating the risen King, Jesus Christ.

In our family, growing up, there was a tree put up every year and decorated beautifully. Everything was decorated inside and outside. We loved it. I still put up a Christmas tree, everyone has their own opinion about Christmas, trees, lights, and everything that goes along with the season. Do what you feel like you want to do or not do, just don’t ruin it for the children. There’s so much darkness in the world now that there need to be some kind of joy being shared. I thought I would speak about that.

Now, I want to talk about a certain song that’s sang at Christmas, and it is Jingle Bells. When I think about it, it takes me back to some of the slave movies that are being portrayed this day in time. It is cruel to portray something like that, and those of you who understand know what I am talking about. I never thought about that song like that until now after giving it some thought. That whole song has given me a visual but not in a good way. I can honestly say that I am very good at looking behind words and seeing their meaning. Has there ever been a brown skinned Santa Clause? No there hasn’t. Has there ever been a brown skinned Mrs. Clause? No there hasn’t. All of the songs we sang as children, I am seeing them in a different light. I now know what all of those songs mean. They may sound good, but they all have their own meaning behind the words; just think about it, but everyone will have their own opinion about them. I don’t think I will ever see those songs the same again, nor will I sing them again. When I was younger, I didn’t know any better, I just believed what I was told.

I hope no one was offended by what I have said, and if you were, that’s your right to be. I will not even be upset about it, because as I said everyone has their own opinions about things. Merry Christmas.

Is Christmas A Pagan Holiday?

Why is Christmas pagan and what is an alternative tradition to Christmas one can do instead? This question was originally answered on Quora by Robert Frost.
— Read on www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2017/12/15/is-christmas-a-pagan-holiday/

Every year this subject comes up, so, I Googled this question and this is what I found. Click on the link above if you would like to read about it. I just get so tired of people acting like it is wrong to celebrate Christmas and put up a tree with decorations and lights. We celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior. It is not about the gifts being bought, but it is about God sending His Son, born of a virgin into this world to save us from our sins, to lay down His life for us so we can be free from the grips of sin and eternal damnation. He is the gift of the whole world. He laid down His life for everyone that through Him the world be saved.

I will always celebrate the birth of Jesus. He is my Savior and yours also. So, think before saying that Christmas is a pagan holiday simply because you cannot spell Christmas without spelling Christ, because without Him, there wouldn’t be Christmas at all.

When I use the word “You”, I am talking in general, no certain body. Merry Christmas.

Ephesians Chapter 1:1-23

1 Paul, an emissary of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the holy ones who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:

2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Messiah,

4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love,

5 having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

6 to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved.

7 In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

8 which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

9 making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

10 to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Messiah, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him.

11 We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will,

12 to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Messiah.

13 In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

14 who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

15 For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you and the love which you have toward all the holy ones,

16 don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him,

18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the holy ones,

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

20 which he worked in Messiah when he raised him from the dead and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

21 far above all rule, authority, power, dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

22 He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,

23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

Look Inside: ESV Reverse Interlinear for the New Testament

How can you take your study of God’s word a step further if you’re unfamiliar with the original languages? Well, we’ve created a product that can do just that! Welcome to the ESV Reverse Interlinear for the New Testament.

This is the second reverse interlinear we’ve done at Olive Tree, along with producing a number of traditional interlinear Bibles in a variety of translations. Here’s a look at the benefits of using the reverse interlinear and some screenshots of how it looks in our app.

How Does this Enhance Your Study?

A traditional interlinear will make the original languages prominent and then place the corresponding English word(s) directly beneath the word in the original language, typically in smaller font. The result is often a translation that is not very fluid. And it is difficult to use without a working knowledge of the original language.

That’s where the reverse interlinear can really help bridge the gap. Instead of making the original language prominent, the reverse interlinear keeps the English translation prominent and then places the word from the original language beneath the corresponding word in the English translation.

We’ve made this even easier with our version of the reverse interlinear. Instead of using the original language between the lines of the English translation, we’ve transliterated the original language. This helps the reader who doesn’t know the original languages learn how to recognize and pronounce the words from the original languages. I know, pretty neat, huh?

Strong’s Tagging

By this point, you’re probably thinking we couldn’t make this product any better. But there’s one more feature we added to the ESV Reverse Interlinear NT. We added Strong’s numbers! Both the English word and the transliterated Greek word are tagged with Strong’s numbers. If you want to see what metamorphoo looks like in Greek or search for this word in the rest of the Bible or one of your dictionaries, then just tap on it and access all that information in a popup window.

The popup window provides a lot of information about the word you’ve tapped. It contains the Greek word, parsing information, and different ways to search or lookup the word. If you want to search for other occurrences of this particular word in the Bible, then tap “Search for g3339.”

To look up this word in the Olive Tree Enhanced Strong’s Dictionary or another resource you have in your library, then tap “Lookup metamorphoo.”

Other Greek Resources

Once you’ve gotten to the point where you’re comfortable using the ESV Reverse Interlinear NT, you can add some other Greek resources to your library as the next step. Here’s a screenshot of the ESV Greek-English Interlinear in the parallel tab of the Resource Guide.

And here’s a screenshot of the Nestle-Aland 28 New Testament. Notice how the word order in the Greek will sometimes differ from the word order in the English translation.

New Release!

By now you should be ready to give the new ESV Reverse Interlinear NT a try, especially if you’re on your way to becoming more fluent in the original languages.
