This too shall pass. Sounds like a trite remark of a well-wisher, yet it’s firmly grounded in Scripture. In Ecclesiates, we are reminded that to everything there is a season and those seasons will change. Winter will turn to sprint. Weeping will turn to laughter. Mourning will turn to dancing. Today, if you’re in one of those hard seasons, pray for the season to pass. Acknowledge this is but a season and there will be better seasons ahead. Ask God to help you find the beauty and purpose in your current season, and walk by your side guiding through this one and into the next.
Prayer for this Season to Pass
Heavenly Father, you’ve told us there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and
a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and
a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak.Walk with me through this current season and show me the next step. Lead me to step closer to you, through whichever season I’m in, helping me grow in my faith and glorify you no matter the circumstances life brings.
For you have made everything beautiful in its time and I trust you will make all things beautiful in my life too. All this I pray through your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
