Judith’s Story – How Practicing Gratitude Daily Made Me Happier
I started practicing Gratitude daily after reading “The Magic” by Rhonda Byrne. At the time, I had just started to learn more and more about ‘The Law of Attraction’ and that gave me the courage to quit a job that didn’t fulfill me anymore to focus on my passion for music and acting.
However, as I was looking for work, I started to worry and not appreciate all the Blessings I had in my Life. When I started reading The Magic, it opened my eyes that I had taken things for granted such as the sun, the moon, my unlimited access to clean water, the healthy and nourishing food I enjoy every day, my senses, my clothes and so much more!
I started to practice Gratitude daily and logging all the Blessings in my Life on a daily basis. With every log, I felt more peaceful, trusting that with all The Universe’s Blessings I had enjoyed so far and was enjoying, there were still so many more to come.
It made me realize that while looking for what I want, I need not forget everything I have and appreciate every little thing.
It also improved my relationship with my partner as there are lovely exercises in Rhonda Byrne’s book to focus on relationships and appreciating all the people in our lives.
I do believe the combination of my daily Gratitude practices that renewed my Faith in The Universe combined with studying how The Law of Attraction works and having a daily routine to make sure I apply what I learn led me to find a job I really enjoyed. I found a job as a Singing Teacher a few months after that.
The opportunities and the Blessings that The Universe want to offer us are truly Infinite and having a Gratitude journal really helps to know this with your whole being.
When I felt that it was time to move on from my job as a Singing Teacher after a couple of years, I decided to trust The Universe, let go to make some room for newness, for what I asked for, and apply for a Master in Acting that at the time, I had no idea how I was going to pay.
Still, I applied, got in and I am now studying the Master of my dream which also includes a singing module and that is perfect for me.
My Master’s is now all paid for thanks to donations through a GoFundMe campaign I had the inspiration to start before my course, my savings, and a Postgraduate loan.
The Universe keeps supplying me and taking care of me since I decided to focus on My Mission with Faith and Gratitude.
Have a Beautiful Day!

4 Important Lessons for Feeling Confident In Your Body
Here are the major lessons that helped me get over a body disorder and love myself again.
This topic is really close to my heart.
I was 18 when I had a body disorder and lost 8 kilos of weight in a short few months.
I felt horrible about myself and always pulled apart every tiny thing that wasn’t perfect in my body. Nothing was ever enough.
I thrived on comments that I looked slimmer. When someone was worried about how weak I looked, I took that as a compliment…
I felt guilty when I didn’t starve myself. And even when I had lost all this weight, I couldn’t see it. I still criticized my body…
Of course, I hadn’t realized then that what I had was a disorder.
It was when I started to be around better people and leave the one who had caused this, I began to see clearly.
I was encouraged to eat, knowing it was okay to have a filled stomach. It may sound silly to some but I was scared to give myself the chance to have a full meal before.
Slowly but surely, I was growing into myself again…
I’m much better off now. It’s been 5 years since that time and although I wouldn’t say that I never feel signs of my past self again, I am healthy.
Through this time, I have understood the faults in my thoughts before and I have changed them gradually.
I don’t starve myself anymore, I don’t fixate on my weight. My focus now is on how I feel in my body, not on the number on the scale.
So today I want to share the 4 lessons that took me from a body disorder to respecting my body. It has been a tough journey and I am grateful to be here now.
Change how you think
Let go of the comparison horror
Express gratitude to your body
Practice affirmations of body image
How to Be Confident In Your Body
1. Change how you think
For so long, we have equated our body’s value with its appearance. If it looks a certain way, the popular way, then it deserves appreciation.
Other people will give us more attention and compliment our figure. We would look in the mirror and feel adept.
Posing for photos would be easier, and so would be viewing them later.
For years, we have looked at celebrities and now we look at the much more relatable social media influencers.
They all look so frustratingly perfect and we want to be that too. It’s all about appearances.
But what if I was to tell you that we’re doing a grave injustice?
Placing our body’s value primarily on its appearance is severely understating how precious it is. Our body is life itself.
We all know that health is wealth, but why do we forget it until our health is compromised?
Without our bodies, we would be nowhere. We couldn’t do or feel anything. We simply wouldn’t be.
So, why is our focus on shaving down parts of our body and not on giving it the care and respect it deserves so much?
I’m not saying appearances don’t matter but they are so less important than a healthy life.
Let’s prioritize loving, caring, and respecting our bodies the most. Focus on how energized you feel, eating healthy, resting, and doing adequate exercise.
When you have a healthy body and state of mind, it will automatically reflect in your appearance. Let’s go health first, not beauty first.
2. Let go of the comparison horror
Yes, that was a dramatic title but that’s how it is. Comparison is horrible. It can take you from having a good day to obsessing over some things that don’t truly matter.
One of the worst catalysts of comparison is social media and celebrity content.
If it was not for this, I would never have found my nose too big, my calves too fat, my belly too round, my face too chubby, my jawline too soft, my eyes too common, my eyelashes too short, my fingers too thick, my hair too plain, and my body too imperfect.
Stay off of these apps if they make you feel worse about yourself.
There’s nothing to gain by comparison. And I’m not talking about finding inspiration from others and learning better choices from them.
I’m talking about the comparison that makes us envious, that makes us criticize ourselves and resent the other person.
We are all human beings and we can never be the kind of perfect we assume others to be. It doesn’t exist. Human lives and minds are too complex to be perfect.
The bottom line is that comparison will not get you anywhere and it’s incredibly unfair to your body and to the body you’re comparing yours with.
We are not sculptures. We are living beings. Comparing such different and special experiences is a very silly thing to do.
3. Express gratitude to your body
A helpful way to tackle negative thoughts and feel more confident in your body is to express gratitude for it.
Although it seems too simple of a solution, it’s powerful. Gratitude is an effective way to transition the mind’s focus from negative to positive.
Our body is our vessel, our ticket to life on earth. It’s the most important thing in our lives.
And, we take it for granted too often. So, let’s not wait for something unpleasant to happen to feel grateful. Let’s do it now so that we give our body what it deserves.
Here are some gratitude prompts to help you express gratitude to your body:
Think about the 5 ways that your body helps you each day and express gratitude for them.
List 3 things that you appreciate about your body.
How has your body supported you through life?
Gratitude journaling is my favorite way to stay grateful. It has helped me build a habit of expressing gratitude.
Here’s the journal that I’ve been using for more than three years. It’s really one of my most prized possessions.
4. Practice affirmations of body image
In my times of insecurity, be it about anything, I have relied on affirmations.
They’re that friend that tells you everything is okay, that you’ll get through this, that you can do it.
It’s those encouraging words you need when you’re uncertain, afraid, and unaware of your worth.
Body-positive affirmations will support you as you begin to feel more confident in your body.
Here are some examples:
I am perfect and complete just the way I am.
My body is a vessel for my awesomeness.
There is more to life than worrying about my weight. I’m ready to experience it.
I deserve to be treated with love and respect by my mind.
I trust the wisdom of my body.
I am accepting myself as I am right now.
I am feeling good about myself.
I am compassionate and warm to my body.
My very existence makes the world a better place.
I am taking care of my overall well-being.
I am choosing to do kind things for myself.
I love my body as it is today.
I am nourishing my body with healthy food.
I am worthy just as I am.
I am beautiful.
Here are some ways that you can practice these affirmations:
Listen to them on our Gratitude app: We have hundreds of recorded affirmations that you can listen to in short sessions. You can also create your own and record yourself saying them.
Write them repeatedly: Choose a few affirmations that connect with you deeply and write them down, 3 times each. You can do this daily, as many times as you want.
Paste them around: You can also paste your favorite affirmations in the places that you visit the most so that whenever you visit them, you’ll be reminded to say them.
And, that’s it! These were the 4 powerful ways that you can feel confident in your body and appreciate it for how amazing it is. I wish you well ahead. Take care 🙂
Next step: Take my 21-day self-love course! This course will help you focus not only on your body image but also on all other aspects that can help you develop stronger self-love.

Feel beautiful!
In our current reality, beauty is associated with Instagram influencers, who wears what, trends, and perfect features.
It’s a word whose meaning gets lost in this massive surge of content and micro trends.
But, beauty is not defined by social media. It’s not all about how you and I look on the outside. Although appearances dominate the conversations beauty, I want to keep standing for the belief that beauty comes from within.

3 Reasons Why You Should Love Yourself First
You might’ve heard about loving yourself first and not taken it seriously. Here are 3 reasons why it’s important to do and how it’ll help you love others truly.
“To love without knowing how to love wounds the people we love.”
– Thich Nhat Hanh
The words “love yourself first” can be taken in many different directions. One can take it as being selfish, always looking out for yourself at the expense of others.
Or, it can be taken as self-obsession. You only love yourself, others don’t mean anything to you.
But, we’re talking about love here. Love is not anything negative. It’s not something that takes away from others but gives wholeheartedly.
Love is about understanding, care, trust, respect, and best intentions.
In fact, if you love yourself, you can love others in the healthiest way. So, keeping that in mind, here are 3 reasons why you should love yourself first:
3 reasons why you should love yourself first
1. You won’t project your issues on others
When we have low self-esteem, we unintentionally make others suffer with ourselves.
For example, if we make a mistake and someone that we love points it out to us, we’re going to be so miserable about it that we’ll not focus on attending to the other person but get consumed in persecutory guilt (read more about forgiving yourself here).
We might try and make amends but it’ll be in very low spirits because all the time the thought of not being enough or adequate will trouble us.
Whatever we hold on from our past or things that we haven’t worked upon within ourselves will in some shape or form impact the people closest to us.
Those who don’t love themselves sometimes don’t let other people love them too. We think we don’t deserve it or that they don’t really mean it and are pitying us. Or, because they love us, they are forcibly staying with us.
But, it’s their choice. They’re choosing to be around. They’re choosing to love. And, not letting them really be around because we think we’re not good enough for them ends up doing exactly what we don’t want to inflict onto them.
So, by loving ourselves first, we’ll be able to provide the care that we want to others as well as ourselves. It’s a win-win!
Related: Tips to Form a Healthy Relationship with Yourself
2. It makes you independent
Another similar yet opposite result can be that we’re dependent on other people to fill the space that is ours to pour into.
We feel that something’s missing and we’ll start wanting others to make us feel that it’s not. We would want them to be close to us, listen to us whenever we want them to, and make us feel less hollow.
People also have a hard time or don’t enjoy being with themselves. Naturally, if you’re not fond of someone, you wouldn’t volunteer to spend time with them.
Someone who loves themselves indulges in the activities that they enjoy doing. It’s not uncomfortable to be alone.
I know all this is easier said than done, so I created the 21-Day Self Love Course to help you begin your self-love journey with daily guided lessons, affirmation sessions, and journal prompts.
If you feel that you don’t love yourself and need to get in touch with yourself, I would recommend you try it 🙂

3. You’ll make better decisions
There’s this article that my best friend shared with me last year about Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings on love.
It mentions that at the heart of Nhat Hanh’s teachings is the idea that “understanding is love’s other name.” It made a place in my heart.
So, if we love ourselves, we understand ourselves (which is why self-reflection is a part of my course) and therefore, can make decisions that we know are in line with what matters to us, and will take us toward what we want to make of our lives.
It also helps us choose what is right for us in the most minute of moments. It’s about knowing to set boundaries that will help out in the long run, not exerting ourselves, stopping people-pleasing, forgiving, learning and moving on, asking for support, and all seemingly simple things that collectively shape a beautiful life.
Related: 9 Steps to Manifest What You Really Want in Life
Final Words
Let me quote Thich Nhat Hanh again:
“If you pour a handful of salt into a cup of water, the water becomes undrinkable. But if you pour the salt into a river, people can continue to draw the water to cook, wash, and drink.
The river is immense, and it has the capacity to receive, embrace, and transform.
When our hearts are small, our understanding and compassion are limited, and we suffer.
We can’t accept or tolerate others and their shortcomings, and we demand that they change.
But when our hearts expand, these same things don’t make us suffer anymore. We have a lot of understanding and compassion and can embrace others.
We accept others as they are, and then they have a chance to transform.”
You can’t pour from an empty cup. Love yourself first and so, love others truly and wholeheartedly. You deserve it and so do the people who love you. It’s time to prioritize your well-being and give yourself what you need.
I wish you the best!

50+ You Are Beautiful Quotes You, Her & Everyone
Feel beautiful!
And the man knew his Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, and said: “I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD”.
In this verse, we know that Adam and Eve were kicked out of the Garden of Eden because of disobedience. God still provided for them clothes before He cast them out. After a while, Adam and Eve did the deed and Cain was born. The Bible does not speak of what kind of child Cain was, but after Abel was born, we know that he was jealous of his brother and the relationship he had with God. Cain was upset because God did not accept his gifts, but accepted Abel’s gifts when he presented them to God.
Yes, Cain was wroth and rose up against his brother and killed him.
Jealousy has brought nothing but hate, death, and division among people. What is the point of being jealous of someone? What does anyone profit from being jealous?
Can we imagine how Adam and Eve felt when their son killed his brother? Can we imagine what they must have asked him? Can we imagine the loss they must have felt because of what had happened? Any woman can have many sons and daughters, but the one lost cannot ever be replaced. There will always be a void in that mother’s heart for her lost child. Able didn’t get to live a full life because of what his brother did to him, but Cain did although he went and lived in the land of Nod, where he built a city and fathered a line of descendants beginning with Enoch.
God cursed Cain for what he did to his brother and put a mark on his forehead. God then provided a place for Cain to live in the land of Nod. Cain was a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth. The ground would not produce for him. No one could touch Cain to slay him, and if they did, vengeance would be taken on them sevenfold.
We may not exactly know who his wife was, but we do know that he had a son with his wife and named him Enoch. Some say that he married his sister, niece, or one of the grandchildren of Adam and Eve because there were more children born after Cain killed Able.
This is why there should not be division among families. We are supposed to love our family no matter what. It doesn’t matter if one is doing better than the other. We are to be proud of them and lift them up. We are to encourage them, not be jealous of them. Had not ain been jealous of his brother, I believe that they could have gotten along and helped each other. We will never know though, but murder is wrong in every sense of the word. Thou shalt not kill is one of the Ten Commandments, but it happens every day. No one has the right totake another person’s life. Everyone has a right to live their lives as long as God lets them live. Only God has the right to give and take life. He is the creator of all living things. He is the creator of all life, and no one has the right to take it.
When I think about the lives that have been taken for no reason, it breaks my heart. That is a life lost. When life is gone, there is no coming back from that unless God allows it if it isn’t time for that person to go. We do not have a say in the matter one way or the other. We can ask God to spare that life, but if it is not meant to be, it will not be, but if it is meant to be, it will be. Life is a precious gift that God has given us to enjoy. No, every day will not be great, there will be rain sometimes, but we can still love one another, respect one another, and help one another; not rise up against anyone to take a life.
Adam and Eve knew where their help came from. They knew that their help came from the LORD. They knew that God blessed them to have Cain even after the fact of their disobedience. The fact is this: God helps us, and provides for us just as He provided for Adam and Eve even after they disobeyed Him. Even in our disobedience, God will still provide for us. He will still be there for us.
With that being said, I hope you will remember where your help comes from.

9 Ways to Respond to God’s Love
It’s easy to feel bombarded with information about what it means to love and to be loved, with advice on everything from self-care to saving our marriages.
These messages tend to focus on self-serving, conditional love—love that can result in disappointment or confusion.
We have to remind ourselves that the template for true love isn’t found in cultural definitions, it was given to us by a God who represents the concept itself.
There is more.
God’s love is different from any other kind of love. In fact, the Bible says that God is love.
God sent His only Son to die for the sins of every person. There was only one reason for God to experience that kind of heartache: His love for us.
God didn’t need us, but He wanted us. He fought to give the furthest heart a gift we could never earn or deserve: eternal life. God’s love is unconditional, extravagant, and everlasting. And, it’s for everyone.
Love God.
It can be challenging to love others (and ourselves) if we don’t love God first.
Seeking God consistently is one of the best ways to learn about His perfect love, and to show Him devotion and honor in turn.
Loving God can look like:
Getting to know Him by reading the Bible
Honoring God in worship
Having a conversation with God through prayer
Love yourself.
While there will always be areas of life where you’ll need to grow, allowing God’s love to transform the way you view yourself is essential.
God bought us with a price and calls us His own. He gives us a future full of hope, to carry out the good works He created us to do.
When we choose to respect and value ourselves, we choose to honor God.
3 ways to practice self-love:
Create habits that nourish your mind, body, and spirit.
Ask God to show you how He sees you.
Set aside time to rest in God’s presence.
Love your neighbor.
When you see yourself the way God sees you, you can love others the way God loves you.
God intended healthy relationships to be compassionate, sacrificial, and forgiving. God wants us to love one another the way He loves us.
3 ways to love others:
Pray for the people in your life.
Serve someone with your time, talent, or finances.
Be quick to listen, and to forgive.

Why is it we we wait for something and never see it? Sometimes we wait forever just to do something that could have been already done. Why does it take longer for something good to happen when bad things happens all of the time?
Waiting for something can become tiring and disheartening especially when you have been waiting for something for a very long time.
It is as if it’s never going to happen. It is as if you are never going to receive what you have been waiting for. Waiting takes time and patience. Let’s keep waiting and see what God has in store for us.
Don’t forget to pray. Jesus loves you very much. God bless.

When we think about the book of Job we think about the things that befell him. We think about how he lost everything he had, including his children. When something catastrophic of that nature happens, we began to think, and say to ourselves, “Why did God let this happen?” We question God about everything that goes wrong in our lives. We like Job have gone through disasters in our lives that we never thought we would have to face. Sometimes we harden our hearts towards God when things like that happen. We forget the fact that God will test us however He feels that’s best to see exactly how much we love Him, to see if material things are more important to us than he. To make us see that He is the giver of all things and He can take away whatever, and whoever His heart desires. We do not have any say in what God does, or doesn’t do.
Job didn’t curse God as his wife had suggested. He accepted the fact that God does what He does. I know that it hurt Job when those things happened to him, but he still had faith in God, he didn’t lose his faith. If Job can go through all of that and not lose his faith, why can’t we do the same?
God was silent with Job until the 38th chapter. Chapter 38:1 tells us this: Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: (v.2.) Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
The Lord answered Job: Elihu had spoken. Job made no reply, and in the silence, the voice of God was heard. Before this discussions had been about God as if He were not there. Now Job was face to face with the Lord. (38:1)
Out of the Whirlwind: In Old Testament times a great storm was the outward sign of God’s presence.
Exodus 19:16-And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightning, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that were in the camp trembled.
1 Kings 19:11-And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
Ezekiel 1:4-And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
Nahum 1:3-The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Nahum 1:3-Will Not at All Acquit the Wicked: Read the phrase: “But will by no means clear the guilty” (see Exodus 34:7). The majesty of God’s holiness (vss.4-6) is contrasted with His long-suffering (vs. 3a) and benevolence (vs.7).
Exodus 34:7-Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
Exodus 34:4-6-And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up unto mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand the two tables of stone. And the LORD in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD. And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.
Exodus 34:3a-And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man be seen throughout all the mount; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mount.
Job 38:14-It is turned as clay to the seal and they stand as a garment.
Job 38:14-Turned as clay to the seal: The reference is to the inscription on a clay seal that is written backward and, on being impressed on a soft object, is reversed and comes out in perfect order. So the sun changes the chaos of night into the order of the day.
Job 38:3-Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
Job 38:3-Gird up now thy loins: This means “Get ready for a contest.” During work or battle, the lower garment was always tucked in so it didn’t interfere with the freedom of movement.
Job 38:32-Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
Job 38:32-His Sons: Offspring. It probably refers to the stars around Arcturus in the constellation Bootes, which has ten named stars.
Job 38:33-Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? Canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
Job 38:33- Ordinances: The reference to the LORD as the giver of the ordinances is found in Jeremiah 31:35.
OMNIPOTENCE-It is the quality of having unlimited power.
This tells me that God has unlimited power. He can do anything. He is everywhere at all times whether we feel His presence or not. God is always listening to what we say. There is nothing that we can say, or do that He doesn’t hear and know. Everything that God asked Job, he had to answer. Surely as we all stand before God on judgment day we all will have to answer God every question He will ask us.
God talks to us now, but do we take time to listen? Can we be quiet long enough to listen for His voice?
Even after all that Job went through he still served God. God blessed Job with more than he had in the beginning. Sometimes God will allow us to go through things that we cannot control, but when that happens, we still have to know that God is for us. We cannot complain about what God does, because whatever we go through, it is for a reason, and that reason may be for us to learn from that situation, to learn to lean on God, to trust Him in all things no matter what. The things we go through test our faith. It helps us to be more dependent upon God. He is for us even when things look bad.
Sometimes our blessings come when we are in the midst of our pain. We never know when God is going to turn things around for us just as He turned things around for Job.
Job 42:10-And the LORD turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
See how good God is? He never left him for one minute even though he was going through what he was going through. He blessed Job with more than what he hadat first. After this lived Job a hundred and forty years and saw his sons, and his son’s sons, even four generations. So Job died, being old and full of days.
Job 42:10-JOB’S LOSSES AND RESTORATION:
LOSSES:
7 SONS
3 DAUGHTERS
7,000 SHEEP
3,000 CAMELS
1,000 OXEN
500 DONKEYS
LARGE HOUSEHOLD
GREATEST MAN OF THE EAST
RESTORED:
7 SONS
3 DAUGHTERS
14,000 SHEEP
6,000 CAMELS
2,000 OXEN
1,000 DONKEYS
LIVED 140 YEARS
SAW FOUR GENERATIONS OF CHILDREN
The end of this story is beautiful. God did some amazing things in Job’s life. His family was restored. His sisters and brothers came to him that had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.
This day in time, we would say that Job had it going on in the beginning before tragedy struck, and he also had it going on at the end of his life because God restored him with more than he had in the beginning. He left his family wealthy.
God is the restorer of all things. There’s nothing that He can’t do. When we start to feel that all hope is lost, and don’t know what we are going to do, we can turn to God. He knows everything we need. He can fix anything that’s wrong in our relationships, in the lives of our children, and families.
I know for myself what God can do when we surrender everything to Him. He wants what’s best for all of us. It doesn’t matter where you are in your life. It doesn’t matter where you have been in your life, it’s where you are going. God wants to prosper you in every area of your life, but you have to repent and ask Him to come into your heart and be your personal Lord and Savior. He is not going to force himself on you, you have to ask Him.
The question is this: Where do you want to spend eternity? When you come to the end of your life, there is no turning back. You won’t have time to go back and make things right with anyone. You won’t have time to go and forgive those who have wronged you. Call on Jesus and ask Him to help you do that today while it is called today. Tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone.
Pray. Ask God to give you the strength to be better. You want to forgive. You don’t want to hold grudges against anyone, it will only hinder your blessings. Know that God loves you no matter what. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is right there by your side even when you can’t feel His presence. Pour your heart out to Him. He is ready to listen to everything you have to say. With that being said, I hope you enjoy this message. As always, everything I share is shared in love and honesty. May God bless you and keep you. May He smile upon you and give you peace. Thank you for joining me on my journey with Food for the Soul.
There are so many things today that bombard our senses, demand our attention, and compete for our emotions. As we continue to exist in a world so bent on desensitizing us, maybe your day feels more like a survival mission. 2000 years ago, Jesus brought us a solution to our burnout, heartbreak, and weary hearts. When we are at our worst, Jesus says, “Come to Me.”
The following was taken from Courson’s Application Commentary, which contains short, insightful notes and longer topical studies such as the one below.
A Word to the Weary:
Although it took place in the 1930s, it remains one of the most mystifying missing person cases in FBI files. After spending an evening out with friends, a 45 year-old New York judge hailed a taxi and was never heard from again. The FBI immediately suspected a kidnapping by someone who held a judicial grudge against him. But that didn’t seem to pan out. They then suspected Mafia activity because he was an outspoken enemy of the Mafia. But again, that led nowhere. To this day, there is only one remaining clue. When his wife returned to their apartment that evening, there on the table was a check for a large sum of money made out to her and a note in her husband’s handwriting which simply said, “I am very, very tired. Love, Joe”.
The question remains–
Were those words merely a comment made at the end of a particularly trying day? Or was his note saying, “I’m tired; I’m fatigued; I’m weary; I give up”? To this day, we can’t be sure. For lack of further evidence, it’s presently believed he rode off to an unknown destination where he took his own life because weariness had weighted his soul. I think all of us from time to time can relate to that kind of weariness – which comes from life itself. If you are of average weight and height, here is what you will go through in an average 24 hour period: Your heart will beat 103,689 times. Your blood will travel 168 million miles as your heart pumps approximately 4 ounces per beat. You will breathe 23,040 times, inhaling 438 cubic feet of air. Your stomach will take in 3.5 pounds of food and 2.9 quarts of liquid. You’ll lose 7/8ths of a pound of waste. You will speak between 4,800 and 7,000 words. You will move 750 muscles and exercise 7 million brain cells.
No wonder we’re tired! But there is a weariness much more draining than physical fatigue. It’s the kind of weariness you feel when you just don’t know if you can go on another day. It’s the weariness a father feels when his child is doing wrong, the weariness a friend feels who has been abandoned or misunderstood, and the weariness a wife feels whose husband has rejected her. It can take a toll on even the most seemingly successful individuals.
There is One, however, who said
“Come to me, all you who are weary…” (Matt. 11:28). How I appreciate that! The Lord of the universe invited anyone who is weary to come to Him. If I were the Lord, I don’t know if I would make that kind of invitation. Keep in mind that at this point in Matthew’s Gospel, Israel is rejecting His invitation to make Him King. Consequently, no longer is Jesus speaking to a nation corporately, saying, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
No, now He is speaking to individuals personally, saying, “Come to Me, any who are weary, any who are laboring”. Would you have called this group of people? I’m not sure I would. I think I would say, “Come unto me, all you who are happy—let’s celebrate life together! Let’s lift each other’s spirits!” Or maybe I would have said, “Come unto me, all you who are wealthy. Come and share your prosperity!” Or maybe, “Come unto me all you who are wise. Let’s dialogue and philosophize and interact intellectually.”
But the personal invitation Jesus extended to people individually as the nation rebelled against Him corporately was: “Anyone who is weary, come to Me. Those are My people—the weary ones.”
Come unto me…
Jesus didn’t say, “Run to Me”. So often in my weariness, I can’t run. I can only stumble or crawl before Him. But that’s okay – he just said “Come” any way we can.
He didn’t say, “Go to church”. He didn’t say, “Listen to a sermon”. Nor did He say, “Get some counseling” or “Read a book”. He said,“Come to Me”.
Come unto me, all ye that labour…
What causes us to be weary in our labor? I believe the answer is found in Exodus 5.
The people of Israel were in Egypt. 400 years previously, they left the Land of Promise due to famine and headed south to Egypt where there was plenty to eat. For a while, they enjoyed abundance and prosperity. But suddenly the situation changed when a new Pharaoh came on the scene, looked at the Jewish people, and said, “We’ve got to enslave these people”. So for hundreds of years, the people of God were enslaved by the Egyptians, baking bricks in the blistering, burning sun for the construction of Pharaoh’s monuments. It has been documented that the Israelites baked enough bricks to build a wall ten feet high and five feet thick from LA to New York City.
When Moses said, “Let my people go,” Pharaoh answered,
“Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves. And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God. Let there more work be laid upon the men, that they may labour therein; and let them not regard vain words.” -Exodus 5:7-9
The Hebrew word translated “labour” in verse 9 has the same meaning as the Greek word translated “labour” Jesus used in Matthew 11. Do you sometimes feel like you’re stuck in Egypt, endlessly making bricks for Pharaoh under the blistering sun? Maybe you’ve said, “I’m going to Egypt. I’m going to labor to get ahead in my career,” or, “I’m going to work hard for this material thing”. And for a while, it seemed enjoyable. But then, just like Pharaoh, it turned against you, and the very thing you thought would be wonderful is now a taskmaster—cracking the whip and enslaving you.
“Come to Me,” the Lord says. “All you who are weary from labor, all you who have realized Pharaoh is a fake and Egypt is a rip off, come to Me.”
We have a tendency to think, “I’m going to be so happy when I accomplish this task, when I reach that goal, when I get this business or that toy.”
And we labor and labor until we finally say, “This isn’t working out the way I thought it could, the way the commercials promised it would. I’m miserable. I’m tired. I am weary.”
Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden…
What does it mean to be heavy laden?
In Isaiah 1:4-6, the Lord says to His people, Israel, “You’re beat up and bruised and hurting and desolate and destroyed because you have been laden, loaded with iniquity”. You see, Pharaoh makes us labor, but sin makes us heavy laden. Sin weighs us down.
David went through a season of sin on more than one occasion. During one such time, he wrote,
“There is no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither is there any rest in my bones because of my sin. For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me. My wounds stink and are corrupt because of my foolishness. I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease: and there is no soundness in my flesh. I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.” -Psalm 38:3-8
Sin will make you tired. What does Jesus say? He says, “Whether you’ve been seduced and sucked in by Pharaoh’s mentality—working for the world and finding it to be nothing but bricks and weariness—or whether you’ve been heavy laden with iniquity, come unto Me.”

3 Reasons Why You Should Love Yourself First
“To love without knowing how to love wounds the people we love.”

Rodrigo’s Story – True Love Can Be Found
“Well, my life before gratitude was a very complicated part of my life. I was experiencing so much anxiety, pain, stress, and a lot of negative feelings. And I started to have a very negative attitude towards life.
Because, when you are uncomfortable with your life, you start attracting those things into your life so your life becomes more miserable than it was before.”

The most important invention in my lifetime is the cellphone.📱The computer is also the most important invention in my lifetime.💻 What would we do without them? I don’t see how we ever got anything done back in the day without them. I would totally be in the dark without my phone and computer. Everything we do revolves around our technology. It is how we plan our day, communicate with friends, family, our employers, and employees. It is how we keep up with what’s going on I’m the world. It is how we live now.
Back in the day we had to use a landline phone that was installed in the house. If you didn’t have a phone, you were still living in the dark ages. If you didn’t get the newspaper, you didn’t know what was going on around you, and if you didn’t have television, you never knew about the things going on in other parts of the world.
From way back in the day.Rotary landline telephone Man reading Newspaper.TypewriterPush button landline pay phone
Just think if we still had to use these old methods of communication, and learning about current events from reading newspapers, we would still be in the dark ages. Thank God for modern technology. Some of the old ways still work. You never know when we would have to revert back to something old to make something new work. Progress never stop, and technology will always be moving forward.
Remember the telephone book with everyone’s phone numbers?
The yellow pages were for businesses, and the white pages were for everything and everyone. You had to look up everything by the last name in the white pages, and the yellow pages, you looked things up by the first name. Sometimes it took a long time to find what you were looking for, and sometimes what you were looking for wasn’t in the book. Thinking about those times brings a smile to my face. I even looked for jobs like that. Nowadays, things are easy to do. All we have to do is push a button and we find what we need. I’m
What if things went back to how it was back then? How would you feel about it? What would you do? The younger generation would be totally lost. We who were born in that era would know what to do. We would have to teach them what to do so they wouldn’t be lost and confused. Things were much simpler than they are today. If I could relive some of those days I would, but just thinking about it is so nostalgic. Well, what’s your opinion about then and now? Leave your comments in the comment section. Every girl growing up wants to live in her dream home. She knows exactly how it will look, where it will be, and every piece of furniture she wants to put in it.
I am still searching for my dream home. I want my dream home to be a four story mansion so I can have my own private studio where I will do all of my writing, painting, drawing, and recording my shows. I would have state of the art High end kitchen appliances, I would have all of my main bedrooms on the second floor with an elevator. I would have an indoor hot and cold swimming pool complete with a full gym, sauna, and hot tub.
My bathrooms would be set up like a spa retreat. I would have every kind of bath and body oil there is on the market, every kind of body conditioner, and everything that I would need to stay fresh and beautiful. I would have a dressing room built into my gigantic walk in closet. It would contain everything I need. I would have state of the art security cameras all around my mansion. There would also be high security intercoms with codes so I will know who is entering my property.
In the back of my property, I would have my guesthouse’s so family would have some place to sleep when they visit. I would have my greenhouse on the north end of my property where I would grow exotic vegetables and fruits. There would be fruit trees of every kind.
My living room would have the most expensive furniture that money can buy; nothing cheap. My lights would be voice activated, and the thermostat as well. Solar lights would be all around my mansion and driveway that will lead to my six car garage which would welcome me home if I left and returned home.
In my dream home, there would be the best of everything that my heart desires. I know and believe that one day this will be my dream home where I will live and enjoy the rest of my life. It will be something that I will leave for my children, grandchildren, and their children for generations to come. I grew up with nothing extravagant, but this is what I want before I leave this earth. I want my family to never have to want a place to live, because they will have it when my dream comes true.
