I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Decketh:Heb. decketh as a priest.
When we see a Priest, they are normally dressed all in black with their Collar on. They do not dress as the world dress. Their atire is completely simple. We know who they are when we see them, we do not have to guess who they are. When we think about it, Jesus did not dress as the world dressed back then, but He wore what was expected for Him to wear because of who He was. He did not try to make Himself known by dressing with shiny things on His robe just to be noticed, people knew who He was just by looking at Him.
When we dress, we put on our nice clothes, do our make up, do our nails, because we are women and that is what we do. Not all women wear make up and jewels because that is just something that they do not want to do. The point is, we should be clothed in righteousness, love, and peace. It should not take what we wear to be noticed, but how we treat people when we are around them. It should be the same way when we are at home. There is nothing wrong with us adorning ourselves, but don’t let it be who we become every day.
Sometimes we should just be our natural selves just as we were created. We should always greatly rejoice in the Lord! He is our salvation. Clothes fade, and beauty is fleating, but what’s on the inside is what counts most. When we put on make up every day, we forget what we really look like, and when we do not put it on, we do not like how we look without it. We all are created in His image, and we are all beautiful just as He created us.
Men make themselves look good to. They adorn themselves with jewelry just as we do. They are in the mirror just as much as we are; sometimes more. There is nothing wrong with that either, but I for one could not see Jesus doing something like that. What Jesus went through for us was terrible, but it was the love that made it beautiful. He made all things new. He knew what His destiny was and He fulfilled it. He did not try to change one thing about imself, or what He had to go through for us. He accepted it, and He accepted Himself. People change the way they look on the outside, but what about on the inside? Whatever is on the inside is going to show on the outside, but we never think about that. Adorning ourselves on the outside is just a cover up to hide what we are on the inside. We hide what we really feeling on the outside by covering up our face to make it look better to hide the pain, stress, and anxiety, and we smile through it all, but on the real, we are screaming on the inside, so why hide? We can hide things from the world, but we cannot hide anything from God no matter what we adorn ourselves with.
Jesus is the bridegroom, and the bride is the church. It does not matter what we look like now, because these bodies are going to fade away, and there is nothing going to be left but our souls that is going right back to God. We will get our new bodies that we will not have to adorn to look a certain way, becasue we all will look just like Him because we are created in His image.
