When I think about everything that Christ went through for us, it makes me think about how He suffered for us, bled for us, died for us, and was raised for us so that He could always be with us through the Holy Spirit. I believe that this is something we need to consider as a gift from Him to us. This is not something we should take lightly. This is very important because what would we do without the Holy Spirit?
I want to look at the fact that we have everything in Jesus Christ. Let’s look at Isaiah 53:4-7-Surely, he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
When I look at this Scripture, I can see that Jesus went through a horrid time, but he never complained about what he knew was happening to him, and what was about to happen to him the next morning.
Here we are now living on the earth complaining about every little thing that happens to us, and we complain about not having anyone to stand up for us when we are wronged, well, I am going to say this, Jesus did not have anyone to take his place on the cross, he did not have anyone else to take the punishment for him that we deserved, he did not have anyone to run and hide with, and he did not have anyone to speak for him when he was being beaten all night long. He was quiet through the whole thing except when he told them where he was from, and they still didn’t believe him. All of the time, they were falsely accusing him of things, he never said a word, even after someone spat in his face and hit him. He never complained about it.
Isaiah 58:8-12- He was taken from prison and from judgement: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore, will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
He was numbered with the transgressors-He was hanged between two thieves.
He bares the sin of many-He took all of our sins upon himself.
Made intercession for the transgressors- “Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing.”
Righteous servant- Jesus Christ.
Poured out his soul unto death-“My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me?”
When we are going through trials and tribulations, we have Jesus to turn to. When Jesus was going through what he was going through, he had no one to call on, because His Father forsook Him because of our sins that was upon Him. Jesus stands up for us when we call on Him. He is always there for us. He said He would never leave us nor forsake us. Our sins are what separates us from God, because God is Holy, so we must be holy. I know it is hard because there is so many things going on in the world that can stop us from being how we know we are supposed to be in the eyes of God. We cannot let the sins of this world carry us to hell right along with it. We have to watch how we live, and we have to pay close attention to what we say and do; God see and hear everything we do. There’s nothing that is hid from Him.
John 8:30-36- As he Spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, we be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, Verily, I say unto you, whosoever commiteth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Hebrews 10:19-23- Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; and having an high priest over the house of God; let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
We do not have to be timid, or afraid to go to the throne of God when we need to pray. Jesus made this possible for us when He shed His blood and died for us. We no longer have to wait for a priest to speak for us, we can speak to God on our own. Jesus is our Great High Priest in the kingdom of God. We have to draw near to Him with a true heart filled with faith, and not filled with an evil conscience. Whatever we need from God, and it is in His will for us, He will grant us what we ask for in faith. God is faithful, and He will always do what He promises. We have to hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. We cannot be doubtful when we go to God. We must have faith in God. Without faith it is impossible to please Him.
Romans 6:19-23- I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are ashamed? for the end of those things is death. But now being made free from sin, and become servants for God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We should be ashamed of the things that we used to do while we were yet sinners before God. We should mourn and weep for all of the wrong that we have done, when God is so gracious to us. We were more concerned of the things that we wanted to do in the flesh that we were not concerned about where our soul would spend eternity if we should have left here before we gave our life to Christ. We were more concerned with what was going on in the world than we were concerned about the things of the kingdom of God. We were blind, naked, and destitute, ignorant, and void of understanding anything concerning the Spirit of God. We were only focused on the things of the world which was, and still is passing away, and the lust of it. So, had not God sent His one and only Son into this world to die for us, we would have had to die in our sins. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank God for Jesus Christ! Thank God for His love, mercy, forgiveness, and grace. He did not have to do what He did, but because He loved us so much, He did. He gave us His Son for the last and final sacrifice to lay down His life that the world through Him might be saved.
John 10:6-10-This parable Spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he Spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, Verily, I say to unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Jesus came to give us an abundant life, and not only that, but life eternal in Him forever. Geater is He that is in me than he that is in the world. Who is in the world? The enemy is in the world, and he comes to steal, kill, and destroy. The enemy is the Devil, Satan. It is what he does. He started wreaking havoc in the Garden of Eden, and it has been hell on earth ever since. So, when are we going to realize that we have everything in Jesus Christ? There is nothing that this world can offer us except heartache, pain, sickness, and death. But in Jesus, we have everything that we could ever hope to have and more in our life. Do we ever really realize just how blessed we are. We have someone who will always be there for us. We have someone who will comfort us when we need to be comforted. When we are lost and cannot find our way, He is the one who will be there to show us the right way to go. When we are sick and cannot get well, He is the one who heals us of all of our infirmities. He is the one who makes a way when there seems to be no way. He is the one who fights our battles for us when we are going through spiritual warfare. He is the one who provides for us when our money is short, and makes the gas in our vehicles last a little longer, He is the one who protects us from danger and harm. Jesus is everything for us and to us. When we start to realize that, we will not be filled with anxiety and despair, we will not be worrying about tomorrow and what will happen in it. When we focus on Jesus, we can have a peace of mind knowing that He is the One who loves us more than we could ever love ourselves, and more than anyone else ever could.
Who are you going to choose to serve today, will it be Jesus, or the enemy of God, which is the Devil? Where do you want to spend eternity? Choose this day who you will serve, because as for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Salvation for your soul is just a prayer away. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Repent of your sins, and your wicked ways, and turn to Jesus. It will be the best decision you will ever make in your life, and your eternal life. Amen. God bless, you all. Have a wonderful evening, and thank you for joining me on my journey on Food for the Soul. ©2022
