Where Our Spirit Resides Part One

Let’s talk about life. We live from day to day not knowing what the next day will bring. We often take from tomorrow by saying what we are going to do when tomorrow comes, but who’s to say that we will be here when tomorrow comes, only God knows that, so let us not say what we will do on tomorrow. We should say if the LORD says the same, we will do this or that.

When we were growing up, some of us went to church, and we would hear the preacher talk about heaven and hell, God and the Devil, and our spirit and where we will reside depending on the kind of life we lived here on the earth. It has always been a war going on against good and evil that we do not have any control of; it has been going on since the world began and God created Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden.

When we think about it, the Garden of Eden is where sin began. It is where all of the blame started, and it is where the first eviction took place on earth. So, when we look back over time and history, we can see that we were born in a sinful world with sinful tendencies already within us.

Now that we are old enough to understand what sin is and what the dangers of it is, we should want to stay away from it. In order for that to happen, we must repent of our sins and turn to Jesus. He is the only way to the Father and eternal life. He is our sure foundation that our faith is built upon. He forgave us of our sins while He was upon the cross before He said it is finished, and everything took place just as He said it would, but there are still those who are skeptics, and unbelievers.

Do we ever think about where we want to spend eternity? Would we be ready to go if Jesus returned tomorrow? Well, we would not have any say in the matter whether we are ready or not. This is why we must make sure we repent of our sins. It can be a bad thought, saying a curse word, doing bad things, having bad thoughts, and actions that are displeasing to God. We sin every day and we don’t even realize it because old habits are hard to break. This is why we must ask the Father in the name of Jesus for forgiveness, and we must learn to forgive others as well if we want to be forgiven.

Where our spirit resides is totally up to us. We are the ones who are living in these bodies. Our spirit goes to God, and our body returns to the dust from which it was created from. We do not have any say in the matter, we did not create ourselves. I know and you know that God knows that we are imperfect people, we are mortal human beings. We do not know everything about everything, this is why God gave us His Word to learn from, to get wisdom so we can learn to be wise and turn to Him when we do not know what to do, or when we do not understand something, how else will we really get to know Him and what we should do and not do. We should never be afraid to open the Bible and read it. We should never be afraid to go to God about anything, even the smallest little thing.

Think about your eternal life, it is important just as our life here on this earth is. Think about where you want your spirit to reside forever. I have enjoyed sharing this thought-provoking message with you all today. I share what is laid on my heart that God feels needs to be shared. Jesus loves all of us, and God does not want any of His children to perish in a devil’s hell. Jesus wants us to be where He is, and that is in heaven with Him and the Father for all eternity. May God bless you and keep you safe. Thank you for joining me on my journey with Food for the Soul. Later, this message will be recorded, so you will be able to listen to it wherever you may listen to your podcasts. Have a wonderful day.
