Depart from evil, and do good; Seek peace, and pursue it. Psalm 34:14 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.34.14.KJV

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved. I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord. And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life. Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:1-9 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/php.4.1-9.KJV

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2:8-20 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.2.8-20.KJV

In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength: for he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low; he layeth it low, even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust. The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy. The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee. With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the LORD. LORD, when thy hand is lifted up, they will not see: but they shall see, and be ashamed for their envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them. LORD, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us. O LORD our God, other Lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name. Isaiah 26:1-13 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.26.1-13.KJV

Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined. Thou hast multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:1-7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.9.1-7.KJV

Has there ever been something that you may have been hoping for, or waiting to receive from God? Did you ever feel as if you were never going to receive it? Well, let us look at what Hebrews say about faith.
Hebrews 11:1-3 : Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the *elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
When we really understand faith and how it works, then we can have hope in knowing that we will receive whatever we ask God for in faith.
Sometimes we may have to wait to receive what we ask for, but while we are waiting we should be praying that our faith remain strong. We all go through things where we have to have faith and trust God to bring us through whatever it is.
When we have faith, we are taking God at His Word. We are holding on to what God tells us. We will not doubt anything He tells us. When we look through the Scriptures in Hebrews, we can read about those who had faith in God.
Heroes of Faith:
Abel
Enoch
Noah
Abraham
Sara
Isaac
Jacob
Joseph
The Parents of Moses
Moses
Joshua
Rahab
There are others also:
Gedeon
Barak
Samson
Jephthae
David
Samuel
These are all of those who had faith. Hebrews, Chapter 11 has given us a description of who had faith and what some had to go through.
Verse 39 says this: And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Verse 40: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
We are imperfect people just as they were, but they had faith in God and so should we. They didn’t get to receive the promise, but we have, and He is Jesus Christ. He is who we build our faith upon. He is the one who has all of the power to do whatever He chooses to do in heaven and on earth. He is our only hope for us to live a better life. What would we do without faith? What would we do if we did not have Jesus to hold on to?
Having faith is what helps us make it through the tough times, such as what we are facing now with this new virus, and the ones before it. We would not be able to make it without having faith in God.
Yes, it looks like this is never going to end. Yes, we are tired of what we are facing on a daily basis. Yes, we are tired of having to wear a mask everywhere we go. Yes, we are tired of not really being able to have fun like we want to. Yes, we need a breakthrough and a miracle from God, but what can we do except have faith that one day this will all come to an end.
Worrying about it will not solve anything, it will only cause more stress and anxiety, and that is something that no one wants to deal with; it is just too much! I know that it may be hard to remain positive because of what is going on. People are still passing away because of this virus. Hospitals are still full because of this virus; people young and old fighting for their lives.
All we can do is pray everyday for a better tomorrow, and pray for a better future for generations to come.
I know it has been a good while since I have actually written an article, but I felt the need to remind everyone to hold on to their faith. Please do not give up on God because He will never give up on us.
Talk to Jesus today, He is waiting to hear from you. God bless, stay safe, and thank you for coming along with me on my journey with Food for the Soul. ©2021
