And Hezekiah received the letter of the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, O LORD God of *Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; thou hast made heaven and earth.
LORD, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, LORD, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands,
And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech thee, save thou us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD God, even thou only.
God is Good all of the time, and all of the time God is good!
And Naaman said, Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given to thy servant two mules’ burden of earth? for thy servant will henceforth offer neither burnt-offering nor *sacrifice unto other gods, but unto the LORD.
In this thing the LORD pardon thy servant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leaneth on my hand, and I bow myself in the house if Rimmon: when I bow down myself in the house of Rimmin, the LORD pardon thy servant in this thing.
And he said unto him, Go in peace. So he departed from him a little way.
ELISHA and GEHAZI
But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, Behold, my master hath spared Naaman this Syrian, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought: but, as the LORD liveth, I will run after him, and take somewhat if him.
So Gehazi followed after Naaman. And when Naaman saw him running after him, he lighted down from the chatiot to meet him, and said, Is all well?
And he said, All is well. My master hath sent me, saying, Behold, even now there be come to me from mount *Ephraim two young men of the sons of the prophets: give them, and two changes of *garments.
And Naaman said, Be content, take two talents. And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and laid them upon two of his servants; and they bare them before him.
And when he came to the tower, he took them from their hand, and bestowed them in the house: and he let the men go, and they departed.
But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gegazi? And he said, Thy servant went no wither.
And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive *money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?
The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow.
When we look at the things around us, we know that God made the. We know that He spoke everything into being, including the things that we cannot see with our eyes, such as molecules. Things that we cannot touch, such as planets, but we know it is there. We cannot see on the inside of our bodies with our own eyes unless we use technology, just as we cannot see into outer space without a telescope, or going there on a rocket ship. We believe that we will wake up the next day when we go to sleep, but we have the faith we need to believe we will.
Look at the wild flowers for instance, who planted and created the seeds to make them grow, who takes care of them? Look at the trees, who created the seeds to make the saplings grow, who waters them, and who takes care of them?
It takes a man and a woman to create a child, but who created the reproduction process, and the number of months for a child to be developed? The answer to all of these questions is God! Man did not create anything except that which was created by man, and it will not last. Only the Word of God and what He created will last.
By faith in God, we make it from day to day. We live moment by moment, breath by breath. We cannot see it, but as long as He gives us life we will live and have our being, but when it is time to leave here to be with Him, life on this side of heaven will cease to exist, but we will live for all eternity with Him in heaven.
The material things we see here, and the buildings, houses, and cars will still be here, because it was built by the hands of mortal men and women. We cannot take anything from this earth because we brought nothing into it. We should focus on that which we cannot see here, and that is the Kingdom of God which is not built with the hands of men and women.
This whole world belongs to God. This whole earth and everything in it, on it, and under it. We all belong to Him. Everything He created belongs to Him.
TURN TO GOD
When we are going through trials and tribulations, we turn to God. We pray to Him and pour all of our feelings out to Him. When we have faith in God, we know that He hears our every cry. He knows our every heartbreak. He knows how to fix anything and everything that is broken in our lives, and when He fix it, it’s fixed. We were not promised that everyday was going to be good, but we expect it to though. We pray about what we are going through and leave the rest to God.
We can trust God with everything that concerns us, and everything that is connected to us, such as our family, finances, hopes, wishes, and dreams. He is our Father who created us. So, the next time we are facing something, we can and must take it to the Lord in prayer. If you have not talked to Jesus today He is waiting to hear from you. He loves you more than you will ever know; more than your mind can fathom. Stay blessed and stay safe.
“God, thank You for being fair and honoring me when I work hard. I am sorry for the times I may have been lazy. Please help me to work hard in every area of my life. And help me to not get discouraged when I don’t see the progress I want. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
God, thank You for always being with me. I am so grateful for Your plans for my life and the fact that I get to do them with You. I ask for courage and wisdom each day so that I can do what You’ve called me to do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
