45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:45 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/luk.6.45.KJV
A good man, or good woman will speak of the good things that comes from their heart, but an evil man, or woman will speak that which is evil from their heart.
When we speak about things, it should be good, no one wants to hear bad things. When a man, or a woman is speaking about something it should be to lift someone up, to give wisdom to those who are lost, and to give wisdom to those who are not lost to increase the wisdom they have so they can share what they know with others. Our main focus in speaking is for edification. When we speak, we should identify ourselves with the Word of God. We should speak the Word to those who has never heard it, and to those who have to better increase their learning. We do not want to speak about things we do not know about, but we do want to speak about things that we do know about, and that is Jesus Christ. We want to talk about all of the wonderful things He did for us while He was here on the earth, before He was crucified. It may be hard for some to do that because it still brings them to tears, I can attest to that, because it still brings me to tears at times when I think about those who does not want to even get to know Him, or what He did for all of us. It is sad when we do not share Him with others. I try so hard to tell people about Jesus Christ and what He did for us. This is the main reason I share what I know about Him when I am writing, or when I am speaking to someone, or speaking about something He did for someone back in the Bible days. No one wants to hear evil things from someone. Speaking evil only hurts the person being spoken to, and it fills them with fear; God does not want that. We need to know that everything we speak about comes from our heart. What we have in our heart is what we are going to speak about, so we have to guard our heart as to what we let inter therein. When we guard our heart, we are in control as to what we let in our heart, so therefore we are in control of what we speak.
When we guard our mind, we are in control of what we think. We have to take bad thoughts captive and cast them back down from whence they came. When we keep our mind on Jesus, we will have pure thoughts. We will know what we are going to speak when we get ready to speak. Our thoughts can tear us down, and our thoughts can build us up. This is why it is so important to think before we speak. When we do not know what to say, we should ask Jesus what should we say, and He will give us the words to say.
How can we speak like Jesus spoke when we do not study the Word of God? How can we have wisdom when we do not study the Word of God? How can we know what Jesus said when we do not study the Word of God? Let us not be lazy in studying the word of God. God’s Word gives us strength. It refreshes our soul and spirit. We can see things more clearly. His Word is living and breathing, it is not just words on a page, it is living and breathing. It is how we get to know more about our Heavenly Father. It is how we get to know more about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Do we ever really realise just how much God loves us? Do we ever realise just how much how He cares for us, and provides for our every need? Do we ever realise just how much it hurt Him to see His Son go through what He went through for us?
I mean do we ever take it into consideration what Jesus went through for us. When we actually sit and think about what He did for us, we will not want to speak bad language, we will not want to treat people bad, we will not want to hold grudges towards others. We will want to forgive those who has hurt us for whatever reason. We will want to love like Jesus loves, we will want to look at people as people and not differently because of the colour of their skin. We will want to accept people for who they are. When we learn to be like that, we will not have to worry if we will speak mean and evil things from our heart. We will speak only good things to lift a person up, to give them wisdom, and to share what God has put on our heart.Everything we speak will be seasoned with salt, salt makes things taste good. Let us all taste and see that God is good, because He is. I thank God for His wonderful, sweet Word that He wrote for us to have and live by. Life is hard at times, but we do have the Word to help us make the right decisions in our lives. Thank you for following me on my journey with Food for the Soul. Stay safe, and God bless everyone.
