When Stress Overtakes Your Thoughts

Sometimes life gets to be a bit much and stress arises and overtakes your thoughts, what do you do? How do you feel? Where do you turn? Who do you run to? Where is that very person that you need to talk to when things like that happen? How does one cope when things are out of hand? When your mind is swirling around with all of your thoughts coming to a head? Do we think of the good things that makes us happy, but when we do there is something always wrong connected to it.

We all have emotions that we cannot always control, they just come from out of the clear blue sky. We shed tears because of how we are feeling, not because it is something wrong. There could be something bothering us that we just do not want to talk about no matter how someone asks us what is wrong. Even if we did tell them, they may still not understand any of it. They may assume that they may know what is wrong, but they are always wrong.

Stress is a silent killer, because it cannot be explained no matter how you try to explain it. It does not matter how much medicine they make for it, it just is not for everyone. People deal with thongs in different ways, not how someone else wants them to. What works for one may not work for the other person.

Stress, depression, and anxiety is a sickness that has to be dealt with in many different ways. Some read, listen to music, walk, run, drive, draw, write, cook, it doesn’t matter what one does, just as long as it helps them get past whatever it is they are going through at that moment. Everyone has something that they are going through in their lives that causes them stress, but how they handle it is how they get through it.

Stress will cause a person to lose a lot of sleep. It will cause a person not to be able to eat, not tink clearly; everything is just jumbled up. It makes it hard to make decisions about things that are important in life. People struggle with many things, but it does not mean that they are different from any other person. We are who we are created to be.

When stress overtakes your thoughts, we cannot let it continue to rob us of our happiness and the things that we want to do in our lives, we must at all costs try to focus on the positive things that we enjoy doing so we do not get caught up in the emotions that stress brings along with it. Yes, it is hard, but we cannot give up trying to be happy through it all.

I try to meditate when I feel stress trying to come on. I listen to my favorite music that I know is going to make me happy. I watch my favorite television shows that I know is going to put a smile on my face. I read my favorite book that I have read more than once. I write as I am doing now. This is how I get through stress, anxiety, and depression when it is bothering me. I even draw from time to time. Mostly I just try to stay positive even in the hard times when I am having a bad day. I always tell myself that there is a reason for things when they happen so I do not fall into anxiety. I try not to let things bother me as much as I did in the beginning. I just may even take me a nap just to pass the time and rest.

Let us not let stress overtake our thoughts.

God’s love is bigger than anything I go through in my life. It is His love that gets me through the stress, depression, and anxiety that I face on a daily basis.
