Reflecting

When I think about the things that God has brought me through, it touches my heart. I know that I could have never made it without Him. I could not have went through all of the things I have gone through if He were not going through it with me. When I look back oever my life, I can see God’s hand guiding me through the rough patches that I had to go through to get to where I am now. Yes, I have gone through a lot, but goeng through what I went through has made me a stronger person. My faith is stronger because of all of the trials and tribulations I have been through.

When I look at our children, I can remember when they were just so small, and now they are grown and living on their own; it amazes me how time flew by; how they grew up so fast. I just thank God for all that I had to go through with our children. I am wiser now; a little gray, but all the same, wiser through it all. God is good all of the time, and all of the time God is good.

I am so glad He is in my life.

Hiding Behind the Mountain

We face trials and tribulations during our lives that we have no control over. We face hardships that we just do not understand. We ask ourselves how did this happen, and what can we do to make it go away? We face crisis and devastation that shakes us to the core, but nevertheless we put on our brave faces and smile through it all.

We keep our real feelings to ourselves and pertend that everything is alright when in all actuality, we are just fooling ourselves. We do everyting to hide the hurt that we feel due to things that are in our past that peeks up in our minds…those things just happen sometimes unexpectedly when we are the least expected.

What do we do about it? Do we push it aside, or do we deal with it? Do we think about it? Well, this is what I do when things like that happen to me, I pray about it. I put it in God’s hands and let Him work it out. I just don’t worry about whatever it is and go on about my day.

When the wind is blowing hard in our lives, and there is destruction along the way, where do we go? What do we do? How do we deal with it? When the currents of life weigh us down, where do we find to go to get away from it? When tears are streaming down your face, and your heart is breaking, where do we go? Who do we talk to about it? When we lose someone we love, and our heart is breaking, who is there to comfort us through it until we are better again?

When we see families that are homeless with no place to live, what do we do for them? Do we help them, or do we just pass on by as if we do not see them? Do we stop and give them something to eat, a little change, a safe place to live, take them to a shelter? What do our heart tell us to do? Do we do what Jesus would do? Do we even pray for them? Do we show them God’s love and kindness?

Do we share the Word with them? Do we tell them that Jesus loves them and gave His life for them? I am talking about the mountain that is Jesus Christ. I am talking about our solid foundation that we can hide behind through anything that we face in life. The winds of life may blow, but we can stand strong with Jesus, why, because He is the one that controls the wind and the waves that tries to overtake us. He is the Rock of our Salvation. Without Jesus we are homeless, alone, in the dark, in a place where we do not want to be, we are in the valley of wolves without Jesus. Without Jesus we cannot do anything, we will not know which way to turn. He is our only protection from the things that we have to face in life.

Sometimes we may feel that He has left us when we cannot feel His presence, but He is just giving us a little more time to pray. He may not come when we want Him, but He is always on time. Just when we feel that all is lost, He shows up and do what He does best, and that is fight our enemies. We do not ever have to worry about losing anything as long as we believe and know that God will fight our battles for us, because the battle belongs to the Lord!

When we hide behind Jesus, we will always be safe. We take refuge in Him. When we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us, and when we delight ourselves in Him He will give us the desires of our hearts.

When we think about real love, we know that Jesus is real love. He demonstrated His love for us while we were still sinners. He laid down His life for us so we could be free from sin and be called sons and daughters of God. He paid the ultimate price for us that we will never be able to repay. Jesus made it possible for us to be able to go to God any time we want to. We do not have to be afraid to Go to God, and we do not have to have someone go to God for us like it used to be a long time ago before Jesus came to redeem us.

How wonderful it is to know that we have a Savior that interceedes for us on a daily basis. Every time we call His name He stands up for us; even when we call on Him in our mind when we are asleep at night. It is wonderful to know that He is always watching over us; He never slumbers; His eyes are always watching everything. He is always making the crooked places straight, protecting us from danger, walking with us when we feel that we are alone. He gives us joy and beauty for ashes.

HE wipes all of our tears away when we cry, and He heals our broken hearts. He binds up what is hurting us; and what the enemy uses to hurt us, He takes it and uses it for our good. He will always be our protection. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

He is our Mighty God! There is no one like Him and there never will be. He is the One True Living God. When you ask Jesus to come into your life, it will be the most greatest decision you will ever make in your life. It doesn’t matter what you have done, where you’ve been in your life, the only thing that matters is today. He gives us one day at a time to start over again, to really live free from sin. Jesus loves us all. The love that He has for us will never fail. People fail us, but Jesus never will. His love is forever and ever.

Almost Another Year

This year has been some kind of crazy. Now that we are getting ready to go into another year, I just wonder what it is going to be like. I wonder if this virus will start to go away. I know that we have been through a lot, have had to make a lot of changes to our lives just to find some kind of normality through all of this.

We must prepare though for the coming year, because there is only one more month left in this year. We still have to take the precautions that have been set in place for us to follow. I was looking at some pictures of our family from years ago and thinking about how our lives were before this thing came and took over our world as we know it. We were happy and free to live a normal life without having to follow rules just to go outside and go to places without having to wear masks.

I look back at those years and think about how things were taken for granted…how we just didn’t have a care in the world even though things wern’t perfect. We lived like things were always going to be the same…like things would never change to be the way they are now. So much has happened and still is happening in our world that we have to be cautious about everything we do. Who would have ever thought that we would not be able to go to our favorite places? Who would have ever thought tha children could not go to school and hang out with their friends? Who would have ever thought that we would not be able to have a simple birthday party for our loved ones? Who would have ever thought that we would have to social distance to be around people that we know? Who would have ever thought that we would not be able to go to church?

This makes me think about what happened in Egypt when God sent the plagues because Pharoah did not want to do what God said about letting His people go. This makes my heart ache because I feel that our freedom has some how been taken away, our way of life. What is going to become of this world if there is no cure for this virus? I think about it all of the time. I know that God has us all in His hands, but people are dropping like flies every minute of everyday.

This is scary…terrifying even! Some just don’t care about wearing their masks. They walk around thinking that this is just some kind of joke, but it is not! Yes, death happens everyday, it is a part of life, but no one wants to die of this! Please people, do not be careless because you don’t care. Don’t think just because you’re not havig any symptoms that it cannot be caught, because it can. Think of the other person that you are coming in contact with; You are not just protecting yourself, you are protecting them also. It just does not make any since how many people walking around without wearing their mask.

This is serious, and not wearing a mask is just being wreckless, and careless, mean and hateful! We all have families. Think about those that have lost their loved ones because of this virus. Would you want someone coming around you without a mask on spreading germs? I would think not; matter of factly I know not.

To be honest it makes me very upset when I go some where and I see people walking around just like there is not anything deadly going around in this world! As I said before, please wear your masks. It is not hard to do. If you do not have one, there are many places that are selling them; so there is no excuse not to have some. When you wake up in the mornings, look at yourself and say to yourself,”I will not only protect myself, but I will also be protecting others by putting on my mask.”

Percautions have been set in place to protect us. Yes it is frustrating to put on something that has never had to be put on, but it is for our protection. Let us make this coming year the year that we show everyone that we care about ourselves, and them too by wearing our masks at all costs when we have to leave and go out.

May God bless America, and if you have not asked Jesus Christ to come into your hearts to be your Lord and Savior, He is waiting to hear from you. Amen.
