Where Does Our Help Come From?

Psalm 121:1-2: I lift up my eyes to the mountains-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

There are times in our lives when we go through things that causes us to need a little help, or maybe even a lot of help. We often forget that we serve a God that owns everything, and we should look to Him when we need help. Yes, we may call on our family and friends for help, but they can only do so much, they cannot do the things that God can do. When we don’t go to God for help things get out of hand; no matter what the situation is, He is our ever present help in times of trouble.

He makes a way for us whe there seems to be no way, just as He made a way for the Israelites to cross the Red Sea on dry ground. We can’t see what God is doing for us, so we just have to have faith that we may know that whatever He is doing it is for our own good. He helps us in many ways. He provides food for us when we have nothing. He helps us find things that we misplace, He helps us when we are sick and cannot afford to go to the doctor; He’s our doctor. He is here for us when we feel that we are alone, or going through something that we cannot control. He is our everything.

There may be times when we just need a little more time to do something to get things done, He makes a way for it to happen. There may be times when we do not want to be disturbed by anyone, He makes that happen for us. There may be a time when there is not enough gas in the vehicle to go where you want to go, but He makes a way for you to get to the gas station to fill up. He does things for us all of the time, but we just do not pay attention to it; we don’t even take the time to acknowledge what He does for us.

He will always help us no matter what we are going through in our lives. Do we ever take time to stop and thank Him for all of the things that He does for us? Do we even care about the things that HE does for us? God loves us, and we cannot take Him for granted, take His kindness for weakness.

His love never fails, and He is always there for us even when we don’t realize it.

Thank You Heavenly Father for all You have done, for all that You are doing, and for all that You are going to do in our lives, and on this earth. All praises be to our God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who was and is and is to come, Amen!

Let us not forget to thank those that risk their lives on the battleground everyday for us to keep the freedoms that we have.
