Exodus 2:10

Exodus is one of my favorite books in the Bible. I see God’s strength and power. I see Him as He is. God Almighty! The Great I AM!

Exodus 2:10- So she called his name Moses saying,” Because I drew him out of the water.” Moses means,”to draw out.” Moses was a Hebrew. In Hebrew, Moses means,”He who draws out”.

Eventhough the people rebelled against God after He had delivered them from Egypt, He was still with them. They felt like it would have been better for them to turn and go back to Egypt because they were wondering in the desert for forty years. They felt like Moses had led them there to die in the desert. What they didn’t realize is that God was their deliverer and their provider. They didn’t realize that for all of those years God was taking care of them; just like He takes care of us today. He supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.

Had they realized that, they would not have been complaining about what they didn’t have, and been thankful for what they did have. They had God with them but their hearts were so hard that they didn’t know how to be thankful. We now today in this world can sometimes be that way when we take our eyes and hearts off of the one who created all things. We need to understand and realize that the same God that delivered the Israelites from their bondage will still deliver us from whatever we are going through. He’s our ever present help. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Sometimes life can make a person feel like they’re in Egypt. We feel like there is no relief from the hurt and pain that we go through. We often question God about all of the things that we go through being His children. We ask God if He’s ever going to make things right when we’ve been wronged by someone we love, by a boss, or even a friend? We ask God when will He do lots of things for us. We must first pray about whatever, or whomever is causing the problem. We must then believe that God hears us, and we must leave it, not pick it back up. God’s time is different from our time. God does things when the time is right, not when we want Him to. We want things answered right then, but God knows best.

God may not give us everything that we want, but He provides for us everything that we need to survive! Such as food, clothing, water, and shelter. He knows all of our hearts desires. He knows every hair on our head. When we complain about the things that we don’t have, we complain against God. It is not right for us to do those things, because it is a sin against God. Everytime we complain about something for whatever reason, God hears it, even our every thought. There’s nothing that’s to big or to small for God. He delivered the Israelites from their bondage from Egypt with His outstretched arm, and with a mighty hand. He defeated their enemies by drowning them in the Red Sea. The Israelites walked through the Red Sea on dry ground and not one person, or animal was left behind.

God is our vendicator. He’ll go through everything with us, no matter what it is. He didn’t leave them in the desert alone, and He will not leave us alone. There are times when we may feel that His presence is not with us, there may be times when we feel He’s not listening to our prayers, there are times when it seems like there is just no answer to anything; but what we need to know is that He’s just giving us a little more time to pray. He wants us to be still and know that He is God alone.

Where Does Our Help Come From?

Psalm 121:1-2: I lift up my eyes to the mountains-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

There are times in our lives when we go through things that causes us to need a little help, or maybe even a lot of help. We often forget that we serve a God that owns everything, and we should look to Him when we need help. Yes, we may call on our family and friends for help, but they can only do so much, they cannot do the things that God can do. When we don’t go to God for help things get out of hand; no matter what the situation is, He is our ever present help in times of trouble.

He makes a way for us whe there seems to be no way, just as He made a way for the Israelites to cross the Red Sea on dry ground. We can’t see what God is doing for us, so we just have to have faith that we may know that whatever He is doing it is for our own good. He helps us in many ways. He provides food for us when we have nothing. He helps us find things that we misplace, He helps us when we are sick and cannot afford to go to the doctor; He’s our doctor. He is here for us when we feel that we are alone, or going through something that we cannot control. He is our everything.

There may be times when we just need a little more time to do something to get things done, He makes a way for it to happen. There may be times when we do not want to be disturbed by anyone, He makes that happen for us. There may be a time when there is not enough gas in the vehicle to go where you want to go, but He makes a way for you to get to the gas station to fill up. He does things for us all of the time, but we just do not pay attention to it; we don’t even take the time to acknowledge what He does for us.

He will always help us no matter what we are going through in our lives. Do we ever take time to stop and thank Him for all of the things that He does for us? Do we even care about the things that HE does for us? God loves us, and we cannot take Him for granted, take His kindness for weakness.

His love never fails, and He is always there for us even when we don’t realize it.

Thank You Heavenly Father for all You have done, for all that You are doing, and for all that You are going to do in our lives, and on this earth. All praises be to our God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who was and is and is to come, Amen!

Let us not forget to thank those that risk their lives on the battleground everyday for us to keep the freedoms that we have.

Psalm 108:1 A Song. A Psalm of David

(1.) My heart, O God, is steadfast; I will sing and make music with all my soul.

I love to sing to God. He is everything to me. When I am making melodies in my heart unto God, my soul rejoices in my Savior, Jesus Christ. I feel like I am standing right in front of Him; it is as if I have an outer body experience. I have been singing to God all of my life. I know I will always sing to Him for as long as I live. Even when I am resting, in my mind I can hear myself singing to God.

I remember on Sunday mornings when we would be practicing before we went to the choir stand to sing, as we sang the songs, I could see Jesus stand up with HIS arms open wide. It was so amazing! My spirit was so high I had to look down to see if my feet were still on the floor, because I felt like I was floating as I walked down the first row where I stood. Even as a child I felt that way whenever I would sing a solo. There are times when I just stay up all night long singing to God, writing music, and playing music on my keyboard. When my heart is full I sing to God. When I am sad, I sing to God, and when I dream sometimes I hear myself singing in my sleep.

Singing to God makes my heart happy. I forget about all of the things that makes me upset. My mind is clear, and as I sing I can hear Him speaking to my spirit. My heart is humbled before Him; it makes me feel like I am that little girl again just spreading her wings. I am talking about the wings of my voice. Whenever I think about what Jesus did for me, I can’t help but sing His praises. I can’t help but bless HIS name. I can’t help but lift HIM up more and more. Whenever I am reading the Word, I just may sing a tune or two quietly just for HIM to hear. It makes me smile from ear to ear.

I am so thankful for the gift of music, making music, writing music, playing music, it’s a beautiful thing. The world would be very dull if there were no music to brighten any day. Next time when it is quiet, and you’re alone, just sing to God, it will lift your spirit, and all of the worries will float away through song.

Music, a universal language everywhere.

Cain and Abel

In the story of Cain and Abel, we know that Cain was jealous of his brother Abel because God accepted Abels’s gifts and not his. That made Cain very mad. We can see that Abel gave God his best, and Cain didn’t give God his best. In Cain’s eyes, he felt that God should have accepted his gifts as well, but when He gave God something it was not his very best. Abel gave God his very best.

I can see how jealous Cain became, I can also see his sadness, and the pain that he felt in his heart of not being accepted. I can see how happy Abel was when his gift was accepted, I can see him rejoicing in the Lord.

God looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering He did not look with favor.Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast.

I know sometimes that there are others that have things that we wish we had, but that does not gives us the right to become jealous because we do not have what they have. We do not know what they had to go through to get what they have. We should be glad for someone when they are doing good, or have something that we do not have. We do not have to want what others have, because what God has for us is for us, and what God has for them is for them. Yes, it is wrong for someone to do wrong and still want to be blessed by God. When we think about it, God blesses us all everyday with our lives. His mercies are new every morning, but in the case of Cain, he let his jealousy cause him to do something that he will regret for the rest of his life.

God asked Cain why was he angry, and why was his face downcast. God told him that if he does what is right, will he not be accepted. God also told Cain that if he do not do what is right, sin is crouching at his door, and that it desires to have him; that he must rule over it.

Anyone in their right mind would listen to God, because He can see the things that we cannot see. He never slumbers or sleep. He is ever watching over His creation. He knows what is best for us, lets see if Cain is going to listen to God or not.

As good as Cain feels, he asks his brother to go to the fields with him; Abel went, but when they reached the field, Cain attacked his brother and killed him.

See jealousy of that magnitude will make a person do anything that they normally would not do. Cain’s jealousy went very deep. He could not stand to see his brother being favored by God. He wanted what his brother had so bad that it caused him to kill his brother. All Cain had to do was do right just as the Lord said.

After Cain had killed Abel, God asked Cain where his brother was, and Cain lied to God telling Him that he did not know. Now, I do not know why Cain would lie to God when he should have known that God already knew that he had killed Abel. He was wrong for lieing to God in the first place, all he had to do was tell the truth. He has the nerve to ask God,”Am I my brother’s keeper!”

God asked Cain what did he do. He told him to listen, becasue Abel’s blood was crying out to Him from the ground. When someone is killed, God hears their blood as it leaves their body pouring out on the ground crying. Life is a precious gift, and once it is taken it cannot be given back; that person is gone forever unless God breathes life back into the body so that person can live again. No one has the right to take a person’s life, that’s God’s business. Everyone has a right to live a full life. It is especially wrong to kill someone in cold blood. That is what Cain did to his own flesh and blood, killed him in cold blood because he was jealous of his brother.

God told Cain that when he work the ground, it would no longer yield crops for him, and that he would be a restless wonderer on the earth. Cain told the Lord that his punishment was more than he could bear. Cain told the Lord that today He was driving him out of the land, and he would be hidden from His presence; and that he would be a restless wonderer on the earth, and whoever finds him will kill him.

Cain must have felt very bad for what he had done to his brother because he was worried about someone killing him. He must have been very frightened knowing that he was not going to be able to be in the presence of God anymore; that is as terrible way to live. Living without God is death in itself.

There are times in our lives when we dift away from God because we want to go our own way, do our own things. We often forget that God will be waiting for our return home to him. He never stops waiting for us. His arms are always open wide to receive us again.

The Lord told Cain “Not so”, that anyone who kills him will suffer vengeance seven times over. God then put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. Cain went out from the pesence of the Lord and lived in the land of Nod, East of Eden.

We being children of the Most High God, we are all marked with the blood of Christ. We do not have to worry about not knowing who we are, or whose we are, or where we will go when we leave this earth. Heaven is our home. We are just passing through this land on our way to a better place where there is real love, real peace, and real happiness, a land flowing with milk and honey. We serve a God that more than enough. He will never leave us nor forsake us. The love that He has for us will never waver. It doesn’t matter what we have, or have not done in our lives, He will always love us.

Let us not die spiritually, but die to our flesh. Our flesh wants things of the world, but our spirit wants things that are of God. We know that one day this world is going to pass away, but the Word of God will never pass away, it will stand forever.

If you have not asked Jesus to come into your heart to be your Lord and Savior, do so, because tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. It will be the best decision you will ever make in your life. He is waiting to hear from you, He loves you very much. All praises be to God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who was and is and is to come, Amen.
