Children…Our Pride and Joys & Hell On Wheels

There are days and monents that we look at our children and wish they could stay little forever, and there are times that we look at our children and wish they were already grown and gone, because as they are growing up, they are hell on wheels.

Yes, we love them to pieces, change their diapers, teach them to talk, walk and run, how to dress, and clean themselves as they are learning about the world around them. We register them for school and the rest is history.

They never grow tired of asking their parents to do things for them. From the first time they say the words,”mom, and dad”, it is on forever. No matter what kind of problem they are facing in their lives, they will always come to their parents to fix the problem.

Children never really understand what we as parents go through while carrying them full term, giving birth, and raising them after they have come into the world. I believe that sometimes they think that we are their playmates…although we are the first to play with them.

We hear their first cries, their first laughs, their first belchs, their first everything. They never think or wonder about that. They may think that it should be this way. There’s going to come a time when mom and dad isn’t going to be there; they are going to have to figure things out for themselves. They are going to make their own decisions and learn from their own mistakes.

Some children never stop being a child even when they are grown. They just don’t ever grow up in their mind. They always think and act like a child until one day reality steps in and life happens.

I know that we all still have childlike tendecies, but there is a line drawn in the sand and we know how far to go. Sometimes we talk about our childhood and the things that we would do…talking about all of the trouble we used to get into. We sit and laugh about that now. Growing up wasn’t easy…there were a lot of days I wished I was grown. Now that I am grown, I feel like I have always been grown. I feel like my childhood flew by.

Children today have it easy when it comes to doing things, such as looking up information for reports, what words mean, who people are and other stuff, everything is right at their fingertips. We had to go to the library and check out books to get the information just to do a report, or anything else.

Nevertheless we love them, and want them to have the best of everything; but no, we must not spoil them…it’s hard not to though. They are our pride and joy; the fruit of our womb, the apples of our eyes, our never ending loves, but yet and still they are hell on wheels.

When I look at these red roses, I see all of my children, because they are all beautiful to me.

I See the Cross

I close my eyes and I see the cross where You shed Your blood for me.

I close my eyes and I see Your smile smiling back at me.

I close my eyes and I see Your nail pierced hands reaching out to receive me.

I close my eyes and I see Your nail pierced feet and how You walked that long dusty road just for me.

I close my eyes and I see the crown of thorns that they put on Your precious head, and Your healing blood that flowed freely down Your glorious face.

I closed my eyes and I heard You say,”It is finished”, and You gave up Your life just for me.

So whenever I close my eyes and I see You stand, I know that You are standing just for me.

Rivers of Living Water

Rivers of living water flowed from Your side, and life living blood did to. I will never forget all of the mean and cruel things that they did to You. For in my mind the picture remains there, You could have stopped it, but didn’t because You cared.

You took the punishment that was supposed to be mine, and for that I will love You for all time. Blood and water to quinch our thirst, and Your powerful Words to feed our hungry souls; in the sixty-six books You wrote for us to hold, to read, to keep in front of our eyes; nevertheless some do and others despise.

Rivers of living water refreshes a desert land,I will always hold on to Your unchanging hand. When I think about Your blood that You shed for me, I hold those memories in my heart that rivers of living water will flow from deep within me.

Proverbs 3:5-6

In Proverbs 3:5-6, God is telling us to trust His ways because He knows what is best for us. That is why we should go to Him when we do not understand something, because when we rely on our own understanding about things we go wrong. God will direct us in the way we should go when we forget the right way to go. He will help us to understand things that we do not understand. We think at times that we know it all, but we do not. He is the only one that understands us and all things in this world. He is wise. We need to gain wisdom from Him through His Word. In Matthew 6:33 God tells us to seek His Kingdom first and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto us. We need to seek Him in all things; in every situation and circumstance in our lives. He is the only one that can give us all of the answers to the questions that we have that we do not have the answers to. He is the only one that can shine the true light in us, and on all that we go through. We may not understand why we go throuth the things that we go through, but He does. He knows everyting that we will encounter in our lives.

His ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. All of His ways are perfect; all of His Words are righteous and true. How would we be able to live without the words of life? How would we be able to love others without His Words of love. How would we know which way to go without His direction?

It will take us a lifetime to completely understand that without God , we can do nothing; we are completely lost without Him. That is why we need to hold on to the understanding that He has written to us through His Word. When we need wisdom, and understanding we should ask Him. He will give it to us. With everything going on in the world, it is hard to ask for wisdom when we can’t find the words to say, we just don’t know what to think. God knows that we need wisdom and understanding everyday, but we need to acknowledge Him and trust Him through it all everyday of our lives.

Things will always happen that we have no understanding about, or why they happen, but He has all of the answers to the questions that we have about everything. It does not matter how old we get, we will always need understanding, and no matter how old we are, He will give it to us. Let us never forget to go to the Master with all of the understanding and wisdom in the whole entire universe.

If you have not talked to Him today, take the time to do so; He’s waiting to talk to you too.
