Colossians 3:3-8

Jesus said we cannot serve both God and mammon.

This is from the Holy Bible, King James Version.

In this passage of Scripture, Jesus is telling us that we cannot serve Him and the world. We are going to have to choose who we are going to serve. When we choose to serve the world and live by the world’s rules, we find ourselves in situations that we do not want to be in. Troubles come from out of the blue and we do not understand why we are going through the things that we are going through. We question God about the things that are troubling us as if it is His fault we are suffering because we chose to do our own thing, and live by our own rules. Things of the world are passing away, but the Word of God will stand forever, that is why we must serve Him if we want to have a good life and be blessed wherever we go. When we do what is right in His eyes, He finds favor in us and makes things happen for us that we never thought could happen for us.

Even when we were living for the world, even before we were born many generations ago God loved us. He knew us before we were even conceived, before we even drew our first breath of life. He knew everything that we would do in our lives. He knew about all of the mistakes we would make. He knew that we were going to do our own things our own way. He knew that we would run from Him. What is so marvelous about God is that He always has His eyes on us. There is no point in running from Him; He knows our every move. Yes there are rules and regulations that we must follow when we choose to follow Jesus; we are free to live our lives, but there are boundaries that we cannot cross. Within those boundaries there’s love, mercy, grace, forgiveness, joy, happiness, prosparity, and riches untold.

When we follow Jesus, there are times when we may doubt if our faith is strong, and if we still have the faith to follow Him. When we start to think like that we must remember what He did for us, because while we were yet sinners, He died for us. He laid down His life for us that we may live for all eternity with Him in heaven.(see John 3:16). Jesus came that we may have eternal life, and that eternal life is in Him.

Whatever you decide for the rest of your life, make the decision to ask Jesus to come into your heart to be your Lord and Savior. Serve Him with gladness. He is waiting to hear from you. Amen.

Choose to serve Jesus, because as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
